WAN gateway: site lines and boxes
Connect the tool that reads your carriers' customer portals, so you can check a mobile line or a site's box from a ticket or the assistant.
The WAN gateway role links FirstSI to an internal tool that reads your telecom carriers' customer portals. You can then answer questions such as "is this mobile line suspended?", "has it gone over its plan?" or "has the site's box switched to its 4G backup?".
What the tool must provide
A REST API protected by a token, able to return:
- the list of lines (fixed, Internet, mobile), searchable by name, number or identifier, with the carrier, the plan and the status of each;
- the status and usage of a line from its number (data, voice, SMS, overage);
- the list of boxes, and the status of a box (main link, backup link).
A single gateway can cover several carriers.
Set it up
- Connectors → New connector → REST API.
- Base address: the tool's address, ending in
/api. Choose the agent on the network that can reach it. - Authentication: Bearer token. Paste the token dedicated to FirstSI here, never in a ticket or a message.
- Connector role: WAN gateway (telecom lines and site boxes).
- Save, then Test: the test checks the token and counts carriers, lines and boxes.
Where it is used
| Where | What is checked |
|---|---|
| Pre-diagnostics, Network type | The site's box: main link down, backup active |
| Pre-diagnostics, Telephony / lines and Tablet / smartphone types | The person's line: status, suspension, usage |
| AI Assistant, for operators and administrators | Line search, status, usage, boxes |
Every lookup is logged. The list of lines is cached for a few minutes. If the tool stops answering several times in a row, an alert goes out, followed by a message when it answers again.
If a pre-diagnostic says there is no WAN gateway, the connector doesn't exist, is disabled, or doesn't have the WAN gateway role.
